The Garrison boot is our rendition of the classic service boot. Developing out of WWI's trench warfare, the service boot's history has been one of defense. Named after the military fortification and the guards charged with its protection, the Garrison boot conjures up imagery of security, safety, and refuge. Moreover, the name itself ultimately derives from the Germanic word meaning 'to ward off.' The Garrison boot is just that – stable, unyielding protection for your feet.
Featuring a perforated cap toe and backstay that hugs the heel counter, the Garrison boot is our first all-eyelet boot. Further drawing on its military history, we paired the Garrison boot with a lug outsole to offer more robust traction. Combining these elements produces a stylish yet utilitarian boot.
Minerva Boxis a grained version of Badalasi Carlo Tannery's Minerva – one of our favorite leathers. This boutique Italian tannery specializes in vegetable tanning. During the process, the leather is placed in a 'Bottali,' a large barrel that rotates, allowing the organic tanning substances to stay in contact with the article. A complete cycle may take 30 - 35 days. The result is a vibrant leather with transparency, depth, and grain.
